Theme-based integrated skills program
Elementary to Advanced
Australian English
This popular and entertaining program provides learners with video clips of people presenting an opinion or information. These thought-provoking issues are based around eight topics of interest to adults and adolescents (e.g. smoking, discrimination, euthanasia, gambling, the environment). The program is self-paced and is highly interactive. Each conversation has a video clip for each level, with 20 activities based around each video.
Once they have read the text, the learner then completes a comprehension test.
Issues in English will build on students existing knowledge of English by encouraging learners to expand their skills using a good selection of activities. Students will learn a wide range of skills: listening, comprehension, reading, writing, spelling, grammar, pronunciation and expressing opinions. With this program, students can improve their spoken and written English in authentic and meaningful contexts.
Issues in English features four levels, from Elementary to Advanced and has both Learn and Test modes. There are around 600 interactive activities, with printable worksheets, test results and tutorials. The fully graphical interface is smart, intuitive and easy to use.
This package is designed for self-paced work in self-access centres, for home learners and entire classes. It is used to teach literacy and ESL in language learning centres, schools, universities and colleges worldwide.
