What happens if a learner simply closes their browser and doesn't 'properly' close the Clarity title? Will their use of a licence last forever?

When a learner starts a Clarity title they are granted a licence. Every time that they finish an exercise the licence is confirmed. Additionally, the program will send a message to the server every so often that it is still running. If the learner clicks to exit the program, the licence is immediately freed up. Otherwise, the licence will be considered to be free if the server doesn't get any message from the program for more than 10 minutes.

Can I limit my licence to run only from particular computers, or once someone has logged in through a particular authorisation system?

Yes, you can embed the IP address and/or the referrer address into the licence and thus limit access to the online system to your computers. Please contact us for help in setting this up.

I have received a licence file (by email, floppy, or CD) along with the main program. What should I do with it?

When you install the program, it will include a testing licence that lets you confirm that everything is working. But this licence is time-limited and only works for one or two people. Your real licence comes separately, by email, CD or floppy. Usually the licence is inside a ZIP file. You should take this ZIP file and extract it to the main Clarity folder - usually C:\Clarity. This will then add the real licence to whichever programs you have purchased and it overwrites the existing temporary licence.

Although you can read a licence, you cannot change it in anyway without corrupting it.
