The Clarity Recorder is built using Adobe's Flash Player and AIR to run on a desktop.

The Clarity Recorder integrates with other Clarity programs (Tense Buster, Clear Pronunciation, Author Plus and so on) to enable you to record, play and save from within their interfaces. Learners can save files in MP3 format and send them to their teachers for marking; teachers can use the Recorder to create audio files for Author Plus. The Recorder displays a wave form image of each sound, enabling learners to see it as a picture and compare it against a model. This is useful, for example, when learners are tackling short and long vowel sounds, as they can compare the length of their attempt against that of a native speaker.
