What is Practical Writing?
Practical Writing is for students who need to use written English in their studies and in their personal life. Whether they are writing a descriptive essay for their teacher or sending a message to a friend, Practical Writing helps them structure their message, select the right vocabulary and choose the most appropriate style. The ELTons judging panel called it "a comprehensive package offering a fuller structured writing programme than anything I've seen before."
And now, students get AI feedback – so they can see where they've done well and where they need to improve. Feedback covers four criteria:
- Task achievement – whether the writing does what the task asked for.
- Organisation – whether the ideas are structured logically and clearly.
- Vocabulary – whether word choice is varied and appropriate.
- Grammar – whether sentence structures are accurate.
